Investigation of precipitation and extreme indices spatiotemporal variability in Seyhan Basin, Turkey

Abstract Spatial and temporal variability of precipitation increases with the effect climate change. In this study, Seyhan Basin has been determined as study area. It is aimed to examine spatiotemporal extreme indices in Basin. For purpose, period 1970–2019 was divided into three periods change point detection methods (Pettitt, Buishand rank standard normal homogeneity test). Trends were examined by applying modified Mann–Kendall Spearman's rho tests for all sub-periods. Then, spatial analyses performed. According results obtained, there no throughout basin. While threat drought comes fore decrease rainy days north, risk flooding effective increase intensity south.
